Some materials removed during biohazard or trauma-scene cleanup may be regulated rather than ordinary household trash. Georgia rules define regulated biomedical waste to include certain free-liquid blood and body fluids, pathological waste, and sharps.
Trauma-scene waste is a defined category
Georgia separately defines trauma-scene waste as potentially infectious material or regulated biomedical waste removed, or being removed, from a qualifying trauma scene.
For current definitions and licensing rules, see the Georgia Secretary of State rules.
