Strong odor after a biohazard event is often a symptom of material that still needs attention. Fragrance, ozone, or other odor treatments should not be used as substitutes for finding and addressing the underlying source.

Porous flooring, padding, upholstery, subfloor, drywall, and contents can retain contamination. Once affected material is addressed, remaining odor can be evaluated as part of the restoration process.
