Sharps include discarded objects capable of causing punctures or cuts, such as needles and certain blades. Georgia's trauma-scene rules list sharps within the definition of regulated biomedical waste.
Avoid hand-picking unknown sharps
Do not place hands into bags, piles, furniture gaps, or other areas where an unseen sharp object may be present. If a property contains multiple or unknown-source sharps, call for appropriate cleanup help.
